Legislative Alert! Member action needed.

From Legislative Chair Michele Abbott - January 24 - APCO Membership and KS PSAP personnel. Things are ramping up in Topeka regarding 911 legislation.  as you know, when it starts moving, it goes fast. Please see the copy of SB30 below. Tomorrow’s hearing on SB 30 is only about prepaid phones paying in 911 fees - Mostly telecommunications lobbyist. Walt Way with Johnson County and Melissa Wangemann with the KAC will be present to offer testimony and comments should they be needed/required.A link to Walt's written testimony for tomorrow is below. Next Monday and Tuesday we are expecting hearings on the full 911 bill. It's being read into the record today so we should see the real bill in the next day or two. We need as much support as possible on the big 911 bill. Letters and written support for your agency;- your City Administrators/Councils and County Commission ARE NEEDED.
