Get your Hotel Reservations now!

If you haven't reserved your hotel room for the Fall Conference yet, now would be a good time.  The KSAPCO block will be held until Oct 2, then the remaining rooms will be opened for the general public.  After that, room availability will be on a first come, first served basis.  You can also reserve your room online at www.ksapco.net.  Visit the "Fall Conference" link, then surf to "Lodging" for information on hotel reservations.

Candidates for Board of Officers posted to website

New candidates have been added to the KSAPCO website at http://www.ksapco.net/fall_elections.html.  Elections for office are held at the Fall Conference.

William Duggan from the Andover Police Department, and Shelly Haskin from Hutchinson/Reno Emergency Communications have become candidates for the office of 2nd Vice Presidency.  The join Don Gruver from Harvey County who announced his candidacy last month.

Brad Gilges, from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office is seeking re-election to the Chapter Executive Person position.

S.T.A.R.T. classes will be offcered at the Fall Conference

The KSOEC will be offering START training in conjunction with the 2011 Fall APCO Conference in Wichita. START Basic Awareness training is being offered on Sunday, October 16th from 8am-4pm and START Team Leader training is being offered on Monday, October 17th from 8am-4pm. It is mandatory to attend the START Basic Awareness training if you are going to attend the Team Leader training.


The KSOEC is providing hotel rooms and conference registrations for attendees of the START training. Hotel rooms are being offered Saturday, Sunday, and Monday night and START training attendees are encouraged to stay through Tuesday and attend APCO classes.

Registration for the START training is limited to 30 participants and the registration deadline is October 1st. Those wanting to participate will need the approval of their department head and will need to contact Scott Ekberg with the KSOEC to register. Gruver announces candidacy
