Free Kansas VINE Training for New Statewide Implementation

Kansas VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday), an automated victim notification
service, is currently being implemented across Kansas. Kansas VINE is provided through a
collaborative effort between Appriss, Inc., the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL), the Office
of the Attorney General, and the Kansas Sheriffs’ Association (KSA).

Kansas VINE is a free and anonymous telephone and online service that provides victims of

crime and concerned citizens the ability to search for custody status information on an
incarcerated offender in a county jail. Kansas VINE also provides the ability to register for
notifications on a change in custody status for an incarcerated offender.

This training is designed to promote awareness and increase usage of Kansas' VINE among
law enforcement, jail staff, victim advocates, community members, etc.

Victims have a right to know.
