Kansas VINE (Victim
Information and Notification Everyday), an automated victim notification service, is currently being implemented across Kansas. Kansas VINE is provided through a collaborative effort between Appriss, Inc., the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL), the Office of the Attorney General, and the Kansas Sheriffs’ Association (KSA). Kansas VINE is a free and anonymous telephone and online service that provides victims of crime and concerned citizens the ability to search for custody status information on an incarcerated offender in a county jail. Kansas VINE also provides the ability to register for notifications on a change in custody status for an incarcerated offender. |
