Governor Brownback signs bill
Kansas Governor Brownback signed into law Wednesday, Senate Bill 50 which pertains to 911 phone tax and funding of PSAPs. Kansas APCO Legislative Chair Michele Abbott reminds everyone that if your municipality has a Resolution or Ordinance in place pertaining to 911 funding or expenditures, it should be updated to comply with SB50.
Sawyer appointed to State Committee
Bob Sawyer from Hutchinson/Reno County Emergency Communications has been appointed to serve as the Kansas APCO Representative on the Kansas Emergency Alert System Committee. SB50 goes to Governor
The House and Senate have unanimously passed and finalized the legislation on Senate Bill 50. It now goes to the Governor to be signed into law.
