Legislative Update, February 2nd

From Legislative Chair Michelle Abbott, February 2 - Yesterday the Senate Utilities Committee began hearings on SB 50, the 911 bill. I have attached a copy of the testimony. Of particular interest in that packet of documents is:Page 1 and 2 are flow charts for the current and the proposed 911 funding process. The next five pages contain a description of the bill provisions as provided by legislative research. The next six pages is an explanation of the bill from the revisor's office along with a two page amendment which is technical corrections.Pages 16-18 is a chart prepared by the current LCPA (KLM and KAC) showing current funding for each PSAP and the expected funding under the proposal.Pages 20-23 is information supplied by the current LCPA (KLM and KAC) showing the number of phone units in each PSAP jurisdiction. The remainder is general testimony, including ours. I urge all of you to look at the charts, especially those on pages 16-18. Let me know of any concerns you want me to inquire about or pursue changing.
